Nakkyu Baek

PhD Candidate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

About Me

Nakkyu Baek

I am currently a Graduate Researcher at the Imaging Intelligence Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University, where I work on computational optics and imaging. Concurrently, I am a PhD candidate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University, advised by Prof. Seung Ah Lee.

My research interest centers on lensless imaging, a computational modality designed to realize compact, low-cost imagers through hardware/software co-design. I specialize in developing lensless cameras for multi-dimensional applications (e.g., full-Stokes polarization and monocular depth imaging). My primary contribution is using the inherent multiplexing capability of these systems to collect and reconstruct multi-dimensional data in a single, efficient measurement using model-based or deep-learning reconstruction. My expertise spans the full pipeline, from design and fabrication of optics to model-based and deep-learning image reconstruction algorithms.
